If Apple is betting on the metaverse, it must mean something

Apple, like most of its fellow tech companies, has featured in many headlines this May. Among other reasons, for losing its spot as the world’s most valuable company to the oil giant Saudi Aramco, which now tops the leader board thanks to swelling fuel prices and the fact that inflation and interest rate forecasts are dragging down demand for tech stocks. Also causing a massive media stir was Ian Goodfellow’s decision to leave the company. Apple’s now-former director of machine learning resigned his position, claiming he disagreed with the company’s hybrid work policy, which has forced employees to work three days a week in the office since 23 May.
