Australia: The first country to prescribe psychedelics for mental health purposes.

As of July 1, Australian psychiatrists will be able to prescribe microdoses of psychedelic drugs such as MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and psilocybin. This way, although other countries already offer access to these substances through different regulatory avenues, Australia officially becomes the first country in the world to prescribe microdoses of psychedelics for mental health purposes. Specifically, MDMA will be used for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, while psilocybin, present in "magic mushrooms", will be used for treatment-resistant depression.
