>> OECD sets its sights on “global, balanced” migration

In the wake of recent demographic shifts, many of the countries belonging to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are facing a shortage of skilled labour. Dwindling human resources within their borders are forcing countries to look abroad for talent, posing a number of political challenges that are only expected to intensify as the future approaches. To discuss the issue, the OECD held its High-Level Policy Forum on Building a Whole-of-Society Approach to Emerging Migration and Integration Challenges on 16 January at its headquarters in Paris. The event gathered representatives from both the OECD’s 36 member countries as well as several guest countries, all of whom spoke in favour of a “global, balanced”
