>> ILO report sheds new light on pandemic’s impact on the world of work

Ushering in the new year, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has published the seventh edition of its COVID-19 and the world of work report. The new text analyses the pandemic’s adverse impact on labour markets throughout 2020 and outlines possible scenarios for 2021. ILO’s data shows that the number of global working hours dropped last year by 8.8%, the equivalent of 255 million full-time jobs. Striving to fully convey the scope of this impact, it points out that working-hour losses in 2020 were approximately four times greater than during the global financial crisis
