From 7 to 9 July, the International Labour Organization (ILO) held its Global Summit remotely for the first time. Workers, employers and government representatives joined prominent leaders from the United Nations (UN), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in a series of online discussions to deliberate several strategies for overcoming, in the aftermath of COVID-19, the weaknesses brought to light during the crisis. Namely, these strategies are meant to address the needs of people who carry out their work without social protection or as part of the informal economy; promote full-fledged, productive work; adopt measures focused
